Come support Madang FC

A call out has been made to soccer fans, individuals and corporate friends in and around the country to help support the Madang Football Club who will be one of two PNG teams taking part in this year’s OFC Champions League.

Madang FC will fly the PNG flag in pool C in Auckland, New Zealand from  February 25 to  March 4, 2018, facing Lautoka FC of Fiji, Auckland City FC of New Zealand and AS Venus of Tahiti.

“You can show their support by purchasing a ticket or table for the fundraising dinner being organised at the Lamana Hotel in Port Moresby tomorrow night (7pm-9pm), “said Chairman of the Madang FC Board, Dr Miok Komolong.

Prices are: K300 per person/K3, 000 per table.

“Madang FC has a good squad led by PNG national team captain, Michael Foster and coached by Auckland based head coach, Maurie Wasi. The team have the talent and ability to perform at the highest level with the right level of support.

“Whilst the team is based out of Madang, MFC has players with roots from Madang, Sepik, Morobe, Manus, Southern Highlands, Mt Hagen, Gulf, Oro, Milne Bay, Central and Port Moresby. We appeal to all these groups of football fans to come out and support.

“This is so that Madang FC can represent PNG well and help retain the two slots in the Oceania Champions League together with Toti City FC for PNG, which will then be available for all clubs to play for in the local NSL competition.”
