Clubs yet to pay player registration

The start of the Port Moresby Rugby Football League (POMRFL) 2017 season may be pushed back to a later date due to some clubs missing the deadline for player registration.

Administrator of the POMRFL, Meke Maino said there are clubs who haven’t paid up the fee to register their players in the men’s A grade and U20 plus the women’s division.

“Club registration is no problem. It’s the player registration. If you’re not registered, you can’t take the field and if you do, your team will be forfeited.

“The season was supposed to kick off this weekend. The board will meet this week and come up with a decision on the new date on when the season will start” said Maino.
