Barras win by four wickets in close encounter

The Hebou PNG Barramundis pulled off another close win in their last lead up match yesterday, beating NSW XI by four wickets at Blacktown, Australia.

Batting first in the T20 encounter, the home side finished at 7/114 that came off contributions  from Ben Manenti (36) and Scott Copperfield (20*).

Alei Nao (2/14) and Willie Gavera (2/28) were the wicket takers for the Barras.

In their response, despite the dismissals of openers Tony Ura (2) and Vani Vagi Morea (2), the Barras regathered and chased down the target with two balls to spare.

This was thanks largely to captain Assad Vala (30), Lega Siaka (21) and finished off by veteran Mahuru Dai (20*), who guided the Barras home to victory.
