Assistant coach: Face challenges, produce results

Assistant coach of the PNG Mosquitoes, Douglas Lai, says the onus is on his men to go out there and produce results at this month’s International Cup in Melbourne, Australia.

Lai said the challenge for the team is to defend the cup as the 2014 IC champions.

“We are the defending title holders so we have to go defend the cup,” said Lai.

The Mozzies will kick off their competitions this Sunday, August 6, against Ireland at 11.15am then play Nauru on Wednesday, August 9, at 12.30pm.

On Saturday, August 12, at 12.00pm PNG will play USA before facing South Africa on Tuesday, August 15, at 10.30am.

The grand final will be played on August 19 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) at 11.15am.

Men’s teams: Canada, China, Croatia, Fiji, France, Germany, Great Britain, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Japan, Nauru, New Zealand, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, South Africa, Sri Lanka, USA.

Women’s teams: Canada, European Crusaders, Fiji, Great Britain, Ireland, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, USA.
