AFL PNG to advocate against Tuberculosis

AFLPNG office will be using the launch of its AFL school competition as an avenue to advocate against Tuberculosis (TB).

The launch will happened in Port Moresby and Lae respectively on Saturday to commemorate World TB Day which falls on Friday.

AFL PNG has partnered with World Vision PNG to do more awareness to stop the spread of TB and eventually eliminate TB in the country in the near future.

“Sport has a universal appeal and AFL PNG understands this appeal can be a real tool to influence its program participant’s decision making to create positive outcomes in their lives,” AFLPNG stated in a statement.

“AFLPNG welcomes partnerships with all organisations who share this commitment to PNG children to use sports organisations such as AFLPNG to drive positive change

“With the continual support from the Australian Football League, the Australian Government’s Pacific Sports Partnership and corporate sponsors, AFLPNG look forward to further develop the sport and promote positive awareness in schools and communities throughout the country.”
