AFL coaches certified

Nineteen new junior AFL coaches from Rabaul, East New Britain were recently certified.

Eleven male, and 8 female school teachers completed the Level Zero orientation to Coaching Certificate at Pilapila Primary School recently.

East New Britain Development Officer Kayly Kelson taught AFL Basics to the 19 eager AFL students!

The Certificate involves learning AFL Rules and Scoring, AFL Skills like Kicking, Handball, Marking and Bounce; Basic Gameplay and Umpiring which involved signals and communication.

Each coach received a whistle and Youth Rules handbook, so that they can coach the sport in their own school.

The Rabaul Schools AFL Competition will kick off on October 19 with great AFL talent sure to be displayed.
