7th PNG Games into day one

The Bank South Pacific 7th PNG Games is underway in Kimbe, West New Britain Province.

Chairman of the host organising committee, Reuben Kautu, said day one started at 9am with hockey, track and field events plus touch football.

Games will be played at five main venues and three smaller venues in the province, including Sasi Muthuvel Stadium, Peter Simogun Stadium, John Maneke Stadium and Kimbe Secondary School.

“Tomorrow we should go full swing.”

He added the opening ceremony of the Games held over the weekend was a success.

“It was a real eye opener for all the provinces. So far, everything has gone well.”
