Zeming says PNG’s best days still ahead with PNC

Deputy Leader of People’s National Congress Party, Mao Zeming has thanked his supporters around the country for the support and solidarity as the nation heads into the general elections.

“With your support, our government has maintained stability and focus on its key agenda and priorities.

“As a result, we have delivered nearly all our priorities and goals set out in the Alotau Accord. We have built more transport infrastructure to enhance economic growth and participation than at any other time in our nation’s history; we have put more school-aged children in school in a short time as a result of our fee-free policy; we have made health care affordable to more of our people with low income.

“Our direct intervention in districts through our Services Improvement Program has brought positive changes to many rural areas that were simply forgotten in the past.

“There have been challenges that the government has had to deal with, like the reduced revenue flow to government from commodity price collapse in late 2014.

“But we have managed to work with what we had, ensuring funding for our key programs remain unaffected.”

He also paid tribute to PNC Party’s coalition partners the National Alliance Party, the People’s Democratic Movement Party, the United Resources Party, and the United Party for their support in this term of Parliament.

“We will go into the elections as a team, and I am confident we will return to form a strong coalition government after the elections,” he said.

“Together we have laid the foundation for a better tomorrow. I believe PNG’s best days are ahead of us,” Zeming said.
