West Sepik (Sandaun) Governor Tony Wouwou has remained loyal to the People’s National Congress Party – a stance that has been confirmed by Prime Minister Peter O'Neill this evening.
The PM clarified that Governor Wouwou’s support of PNC has never wavered.
Wouwou visited Opposition MPs earlier today at the Sanctuary Hotel. During his visit, Opposition Leader Patrick Pruaitch announced that the WSP Governor had defected from the Government.
Countering that announcement, the PM this evening said the Governor in fact, remains loyal to the PNC ruling coalition, and has not resigned from the party.
The Prime Minister also maintains that the PNC coalition is intact and stable.
