Vietnam hands over ISOM chair to PNG

Vietnam has handed over the chair for the Informal Senior Officials Meeting ( ISOM ) to Papua New Guinea today.

In an official hand - over of the chair, outgoing Chair, H.E Bui Thanh Son, committed to support PNG in hosting the APEC Summit in November next year.

Mr Thanh Son said the ISOM symposium in Port Moresby is just the beginning of a series of meetings leading to APEC Summit in November 2018.

He said our people must be given priority in every decision that the leaders do during the meetings.

He also reminded the leaders at the ISOM symposium that the International leaders are watching what APEC Economies are doing and they must send a strong positive message to the rest of the world.

"If 2017 was about stabilising the APEC ship in the stormy weather, 2018 is expected to harness opportunities to navigate the ship to harbour a brighter future.

"Forecasting to sustain global recovery in the Asia Pacific could be the positive factors that lead to dynamic results."

He reminded the leaders to focus on the achievements they have achieved and continue to serve the people.

The two day ISOM symposium will end tomorrow.
