It is confirmed that former Chief Secretary of Government, Sir Manasupe Zurenuoc, has passed away this morning in Lae, Morobe Province.
Chris Hawkins from the Prime Minister’s Office confirmed his passing.
An official statement will be released from the PM’s Department shortly.
Sir Manasupe has been suffering from Parkinson's disease for some time.
He retired from his position as the chief secretary in February 2016. He had been serving the public service for more than 30 years.
The death of Sir Manasupe is indeed a great loss to the people of this country and comes only days following the death of FM 100 radio talkback icon, Roger Hau’ofa, on Saturday night.
PNG is now in a state of mourning following the death of these two great leaders.
