Reminder for teachers

The 2018 academic year for Government schools throughout the country commenced today for teachers and they are reminded once again to fill in their Resumption of Duty Summary Sheets and other relevant documents.

Students will commence classes a week later on Monday, January 29.

Education Secretary, Dr Uke Kombra, says once the teachers resume duties, they will be required to report to their principal, head teacher or manager to confirm that they have been posted to the school by the National Education Board or the Provincial Education Board.

Dr Kombra urges all teachers and new graduates to remember to complete the Resumption of Duty Summary Sheet or RODSS, and Teacher Record of Appointment and other relevant documents.

The RODSS is vital because it determines the continuity of the teachers’ salary payment in 2018 and for new graduates to be placed on the payroll.

It is also crucial that all forms be filled in correctly and signed off.

Dr. Kombra said vital documents, such as RODSS, TRoA and Application of Registration of Employment (EDB020), have been dispatched to the provincial education offices in November 2017 for the purpose of the 2018 teachers’ resumption exercise.

Dr Kombra has directed that classes start immediately with programed lessons when students commence school next week.
