PNGEC launches Corporate Plan

The PNG Electoral Commission must develop fresh and innovative strategies to build on the success as well address election issues and problems.

Minister Assisting the Prime Minister, William Samb, said this when officially launching The PNGEC Corporate Plan 2018 – 2022 today.

The five-year Corporate Plan aims to enhance the capacity of the PNG Electoral Commission to deliver high quality electoral services to the people.

Minister Samb commended the EC on the launch saying if fully implemented will address many issues witnessed during National General Elections.

“This new Corporate Plan represents a sensible and realistic way forward for resolving on-going election issues such as voter registration and identification, polling and counting, legal reform, election malpractice, fiscal management and other areas for improving electoral performance and accountability,” said the Minister.

Electoral Commissioner, Patilias Gamato, concurred saying the implementation of the corporate plan for a free, fair, and inclusive election.

The Corporate Plan is the electoral commission first strategic planning approach to promotw stronger coordination, collaboration and interactive relationhips between and among branches of PNGEC with its provincial electoral offices and external stakeholders.
