PM responds to Pruaitch

The Government is ready to sign any agreement that will transfer the PNGSDP funds to Western Provincial Government and its people.

The Prime Minister made this statement when responding to queries raised by Opposition leader Patrick Pruaitch on the PNGSDP funds.

Pruaitch called on PM Peter O’Neill to stop futile attempts to derail social and economic development programs sponsored by PNG Sustainable Development Program Ltd in Western Province.

The Prime Minister told this newsroom that there is no ounce of truth, but desperate lies from desperate opposition on the eve of the much-talked about vote of no confidence (VONC) where an alternate PM is being passed around like a football desperately looking for numbers.

He went on and said the Opposition has no policy agenda for the country and has served for the past 18 months with no impact.

PM O’Neill stressed that the Opposition leader is only power hungry and will fail again in their attempt in the upcoming Vote of No Confidence.

He reiterated that PNGSDP funds are property of the people of Western Province, and the government is fighting against alleged thieving consultants and friends of former PNGSDP chairman, Sir Mekere Morauta.

Pruaitch had initially claimed that: “Prime Minister Peter O’Neill has been wanting to get his hands on these funds, having borrowed almost K20 billion on top of the record revenues that have flowed into government coffers”.
