Over 4,000 journos in Vietnam for Summit

Over 4,000 journalists from around the world have gathered in Da Nang city, Vietnam, for the 2017 APEC CEO Summit.

The week-long Summit began on Monday with various meetings leading up to the main opening ceremony today.

Prime Minister Peter O'Neill was accompanied by Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Rimbink Pato, and APEC Minister Justin Tkatchenko.

O'Neill in a media briefing with PNG journalists yesterday said PNG is ready to host the APEC Summit in 2018.

He added the Vietnamese experience will be used as a learning ground in terms of preparation to host the Summit.

PNG media is represented by Freddy Mou from Loop PNG/TVWAN News, Scott Waide – EMTV, Gorethy Kenneth – Post-Courier; Helen Tarawa – The National and Ivan Bayagau from the National Broadcasting Commission.

PM O'Neill will be giving an address to the leaders on Friday, Nov 10.

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump will be arriving today along with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
