Over 1,300 illicit materials burnt

Over 1,300 illicit materials, including pornographic items, multiple DVDs and sexual enhancement products were destroyed in a bonfire outside of Port Moresby recently.

The Office of Censorship, in partnership with the National Drug and Vice Squad and members of the Boroko Magisterial Services, also set fire to more than 9.5 kilograms of marijuana.

The illicit materials were confiscated by the Enforcement & Compliance Division of the Office of Censorship in their daily operations.

The marijuana destroyed was confiscated by the National Drug and Vice Squad and some were taken from the exhibits of the Boroko Magisterial Services.

Acting manager enforcement & compliance, Poveta Posa, acknowledged the assistance of the police officers and the team from Censorship, as this is one of the key priority areas for the Enforcement & Compliance Division.

Posa said she is satisfied with the continuous support from the RPNGC, including PNG Customs, and hopes to continue this collaboration with other partners in the coming years.
