O’Neill calls for unity

Ialibu Pangia MP and Prime Minister, Peter O'Neill, has urged all the leaders and people of Southern Highlands to instill peace and come together and unite to drive development in the province.

Speaking to the Provincial Assembly Members today, during the PEC swearing in ceremony in Mendi, O'Neill said other provinces in the country have developed in terms of services unlike Southern Highlands.

"Southern Highlands Province is always prone in law and order issues during election periods.

"How many times will we change from our ways and allow proper procedures to take its toll."

He condemned an incident an incident that took place some months which resulted in many properties destroyed.

'I don't know why the people are not learning from the past mistakes but continue to repeat mistakes over and over again."

He urged leaders to show humbleness in their leadership and try to accept corrections from others.

Speaking as a member of the Southern Highlands assembly, O'Neill further called on the leaders to be in the fore front to show leadership and not to instigate trouble.

"We must put our province back to its glorious days."
