“Who I have known for over 30 years as a fellow professional in the accountancy field, he is a carrier man, practiced accountancy with the Lutheran Church and also he comes with strong Christian principles from that background,” O’Neill said in Parliament.
Dadae was a member of the O’ Neill led PNC party in this term of Parliament and serving MP for Kabwum when elected to the post by parliament on Wednesday.
“I want to say that he brings with him a strong quality leadership and I am very certain that he will serve the highest office in the country with great honour and higher distinction that he will provide,” O’Neill said.
Meanwhile, Madang Governor Jim Kas thanked the coalition government and Parliament for voting a man from Mamose region.
“I stand to speak as the chairman of the Mamose Governors Council, representing the people of East Sepik, West Sepik, Madang and Morobe to thank Parliament for choosing for the first time a son from the region to be the Governor-General for Papua New Guinea,” Kas said.
