As Papua New Guinea prepares to welcome the New Year this weekend, people should expect fine weather as reported by the PNG National Weather Service (PNGNWS).
PNGNWS assistant director Jimmy Gomoga said generally the country will have fine weather starting on Friday, December 30 to Monday, January 2.
Gomoga said there may be a shower or two however it will be mostly sunny throughout the weekend nationwide.
The usual fireworks display in Port Moresby put up annually by the Lamana Gold Club will not be affected as it will be mostly fine weather on New Year’s Eve.
Gomoga highlighted that most centres throughout the country will expect fine weather on New Year’s Eve as well accept for the Highlands Region where there’ll be some evening showers.
