Eda Ranu staff frustrated

With the recent past experience and history of the government’s handling of PNG Ports, the NAC and Telikom, Eda Ranu is very apprehensive about the governments guarantee to have to address their grievances satisfactorily.

As such, the Eda Ranu staff and workers are collectively calling for an immediate adherence and compliance to their demands and requirements.

The call is for NEC to reverse the merger of Water PNG Ltd and Eda Ranu and for Eda Ranu to operate business as normal.

According to Eda Ranu staff and spokesperson, Kevin Hecko the merger cannot be reversed and if the amalgamation process proceeds, the staff will call for and demand;

  • Immediate settlement of staff entitlements, privileges and payments as per the current staff pay rate 2018;
  • Payment of entitlements to all long service staff;
  • Settlements of entitlements to the staff Eda Ranu housing scheme loans
  • Eda Ranu’s terms and conditions for all employees per 2018 staff ceiling remain regardless of merger and under the merger authority.

He said the up till now after the 8 hours ultimatum was set yesterday afternoon; there has been no favourable outcome from the Eda Ranu management.

This will soon see staff move forward with further actions to oppose the merger and voice their concerns.
