Court to decide on Maprik MP’s misappropriation case

A leadership tribunal will be handing down its decision on the misappropriation case against the Member for Maprik, John Simon, this Thursday.

This follows Tuesday’s hearing which saw Simon’s lawyers from Young and Williams argue with the Public Prosecutor before a leadership tribunal made up of Justice Nicholas Miviri and magistrates Michael Apie’e and Nancy Lipai.

The nine allegations against Simon relate to the use of District Services Improvement funds belonging to the people of Maprik in 2013.

The court reserved its decision for Thursday, November 14th, at 1.30pm.
