Chinese Medical Team in Kavieng

A team from the Chinese Medical Team based in Port Moresby visited Kavieng last week.

The visit was to strengthen Chinese medical relations with the Kavieng General Hospital and also to nurture cordial relations with the people of New Ireland.

The team consisted of Deputy Captain of the China Medical Team Dr Jason Liu who a pediatrician, Dr Hongbo Liu a traditional Chinese medical practitioner and physiotherapist, Dr. Haibo MU a gynecologist/ obstetrician and assistant nurse Chang Yuang.

Third secretary of the Chinese Embassy in PNG, Jiang Yewei accompanied the team.

The medical team also donated eight boxes of medical supplies to the Kavieng General Hospital which included surgical gloves, Masks, goggles, medical rubber gloves, caps and booth covers.

They also set up a free medical clinic at the Malangan Hotel to treat patients.

The Chinese Government over the years has been facilitating medical services to Papua New Guinea through its health partnership programs.

So far this is the 12th Chinese Medical team to PNG.
