NCD police have reason to believe that the attackers who shot a woman in her face could be the same gang that shot and killed the former lands officer, Daniel Katakumb, on Thursday night.
A young woman sustained a broken jaw with bullets in her right cheek and shattered teeth after being attacked in a parking lot following an attempted carjacking on Friday.
The former lands officer, on the hand, was shot just outside his home as per reports from Homicide.
NCD superintendent operations commander, Michael Tilae, said they have some leads into these two cases and they will be boosting up investigations into the death of the man and the tragic assault on the young woman.
He added that there is a syndicate of criminals in the city. These two incidents are somewhat similar in nature and they are hoping to make arrests soon.
