2017 Leaders Summit deferred

The 2017 Leader's Summit have been deferred to a later date because of non-attendance by some Members of Parliament.

The two day programme was supposed to start today in Port Moresby to highlight the outcome of the O'Neill-Dion Government.

Chief Secretary to Government, Isaac Lupari made the announcement of the cancellation this morning in front of Cabinet Ministers, Departmental and statutory heads, District Development Authority CEOs, Development Partners, and Business executive at the Stanley Hotel.

Lupari said many parliamentarians are absent and were unable to attend and were in their electorates after two weeks of Parliament sessions.

"We will inform you of the new date," Lupari said.

"And it’s important we have all leaders to attend to see the outcome of the Alotau Accord."
