VC management hails police officers

Seven police officers have been praised by the Vision City management for their commitment to the profession.

Constables Tom Yako, Wesley Nepos, Gabriel Kiwa, Pulaip Nuli, Nayman Oiye and Temo Pepo, led by Snr constable Keith Sapu, have shown true dedication since being attached with the VC police post.

Police post is an initiative of the VC management to assist the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary in keeping Port Moresby safe.

Established in November 2016, the police post provides another launching point for the police personnel to respond from, bridging the gap between the Gordon and Waigani police stations.

Since the partnership, VC security manager Sevanaia Koroi says the 7 constables have proven themselves worthy of the profession.

VC reaffirmed their commitment to the RPNGC during a dinner hosted last Monday.

“We are trying to change mindsets that crime prevention is the responsibility of everybody,” said Koroi.

He said the initiative of the police post has greatly managed crime in the area.

Koroi said in 2018, Port Moresby will be the hype of activities. He hopes to increase manpower to cater for the increased population during the period.

His main concern is police response and intel-sharing. Koroi hopes to see this improved in the new year.
