There’s a barbie for ‘Staiya dai’ mate

"Buy a few snags and we'll have a beer and a BBQ."

That’s how a true Australian will say it.

And what better way to celebrate Australia Day today, January 26, then to throw a few snags on the barbie mate.

Meat Haus in Port Moresby has decided to do this Aussie favour, selling K4 snags (sausage) between 11am to 2:30pm, at its space at the corner of Waigani Drive and Cameron Rd in Port Moresby.

“Chef Tom will be behind the BBQ. And any customer with a shopping receipt from Meat Haus will buy a sausage and a piece of bread – real Aussie style with caramelised onions. One receipt for one K4 sausage,” Sharne Ori – Retail General Manager explained.

What’s more to it?

Ori says the K2 from every sale goes to the PNG Caner Foundation.

“We’re also keen advocators of breast cancer so we’ll actually be donating to the cancer foundation,” she added.

She says it will be really exciting…and for kids, there will definitely be balloons and more balloons.

“The company is actually PNG and New Zealand owned. We have a range of New Zealand products and a range of Aussie products so this is an opportunity to celebrate the day with our pacific neighbours,” Ori said.
