Sharing the love

Christmas is a time of giving.

And for nine years, this has been recognised by the Taku family in Port Moresby.

On December 25, the family drives around town, delivering a hot meal to people who spend the night on the streets.

This Christmas was no different.

The Takus began food preparations on Christmas Eve. When Christmas dawned, they were already out on the streets of Port Moresby.

Loop PNG caught up with them at Three-Mile as they were giving out the last of the food packs.

“All year round, we receive blessing in the little things we do. So in appreciation of this, we decide to give something to those who are less fortunate. We are sharing the love,” said Racheal Lopoi.

With two large bowls full of food packs, they visited Downtown Port Moresby, Konedobu, Hohola, Four-Mile, Erima Flyover, Three-Mile and Manu.

After lunch, the family visited the Baruni community to donate clothes and beddings.
