Reading encourages amazing dreams!

Reading encourages amazing dreams, says Niawali Twain, Miss Queen Emma Chocolate 2017.

She and five other contestants of Miss Pacific Islands Pageant PNG today visited the Buk Bilong Pikinini at Tatana Village, Port Moresby.

The visit is part of the pageant’s one week program leading to the crowning ball this Saturday (Nov 11).

Twain says the whole week has been very busy and exciting.

Most part of it was meeting with locals.

"Our trips this whole week were trips with purpose. We got to go out into the community, which is not something new to us. We each come from a community, that's where we belong and it's only fitting for us to go back," she said.

But today's visit was extra special as the contestants got to talk to children who are only starting their education journey.

"My message to them is read!" She said.

For Twain, it was emotional as it brought back childhood memories.

"I remember how childhood learning is. I wouldn't be here had it not been for my teacher who had instilled in me the basics of learning and opened the door of education.

“I applaud teachers here for the outstanding work they're doing."

Twain acknowledged BbP supporting and giving children the opportunity to explore the world around them through books and learning.
