Children way forward in TB fight

The attendance of children and youth at the TB expo on Friday at the Sir John Guise stadium has been commended by STOP TB partners.

Involving children in tuberculosis awareness is a good start as it falls perfectly in line with the world TB day theme Wanted: Leaders for a TB-Free World, You can make history. End TB.

Health Minister Sir Puka Temu said the show of participation today was important for a TB free future.

“This are our future leaders so they should be involved in addressing TB,” he said.

Students from schools in Port Moresby also participated in an art competition relating to ending TB.

All these drawings were put on display at the expo and the competition winners were also awarded.

Partners, sponsors and donors set up booths and those in attendance had a chance to gain a few information on the service and efforts each do towards fighting TB.
