Cardiac surgery team to return

After 4 successful visits, the highly experienced cardiac surgery team from India are slated for a 9th April (today) arrival for their 5th session of cardiac surgery since the inception of Pacific International Hospital’s cardiac program.

Drs. Vishal Gupta, Rajan Modi and Naman Shastri return every quarter to operate on the patients who are given a work-up by the PIH team of cardiologists so that the patients are emotionally and physically in the best possible condition to benefit from the surgery.

This is so that they can return happily and healthily to their lives – to their family, community and work.

The aim and the objective of the cardiac surgery program is precisely that – to save hearts in PNG so that patients can confidently return to pain free, fear free, peaceful and productive lives.

The home alternative provided by PIH saves numerous costs and associated problems of going abroad for such surgeries. The services provided are substantially lower in cost and allied expenses, at the same time allowing the patients and attendants to be in the home environment, amongst own people.

“This team of experts ensure that highly complicated surgeries of the heart such as multiple bypass, Bentall procedure and valve repairs can all be performed within Papua New Guinea itself,” said Col Sandeep, CEO of Pacific International Hospital.

“Not just that, this service can even be extended to people who are HIV Positive.

“With each visit, PIH makes ground-breaking progress in the field of advanced cardiac care in this country.”

The surgical team also reviews patients who were operated in the past to assure that they continue to be well and lead active and happy lives.
