Second local collection in Jack’s of PNG

True to its word, Jack’s of PNG has introduced yet another local collection in two of its outlets in Port Moresby.

The shop at Waigani Central today launched the Niugini Native brand by Wandid Amini Korimbo.

Korimbo is the second local designer whose collection is promoted and sold exclusively in Jack’s of PNG.

That is the initial intention of Jack’s, said Yogesh Sammy, Manager for Corporate Business.

“We said to launch local products and want people to buy more local products. We want to focus on exposing one designer at a time,” he said.

“We did that with Sarah Haoda Todd’s brand PNGean Kala last year - it gave her a huge mileage. This year, it’s Wandid’s Niugini Native.”

Wandid was approached by Jack’s during the Stella Runway last year.

Despite it being her first runway and official public appearance, Jack’s signed a contract with her to do designs with them in partnership.

As per the partnership, Wandid does the designs and Jack’s does all productions.

“We should be wearing our designs and Jack’s is giving a good opportunity and privilege for us to showcase our designs, and not only to PNG but hopefully to the pacific and eventually the world,” Wandid said.

Her brand has men’s collection, women’s collection and even caters for children and size range goes up to plus size.

Niugini Native will be available at Jack’s of PNG Waigani and Vision City from today onwards.
