Jack Spade dedicates act to late sister

Oro magician Jack Spade, who has made it through to the Yu Em Khax semi-finals, will dedicate his performance this Saturday to his late sister Eileen.

Eileen, a big fan of big brother Oswald Philemon, known as Jack Spade on stage, travelled to Port Moresby from Lae when she heard he made it through to the semi-finals.

“She was already here, to watch my show, but then passed away from an illness,” he said.

Jack Spade also made a special mention to his fans in his hometown Popondetta.

“My travel to Port Moresby was made possible entirely by my fans and mother back in Popondetta,” he said.

Based in Popondetta, Jack Spade made his own way to Lae for the Lae heat when he heard about the talent show seeking unique talent.

He successfully made it through to the semi-finals, the first which will be aired this Saturday, on TVWan Life channel.

He says when he returned to Popondetta with the golden ticket, he was approached by many fans, including businessmen, who volunteered to sponsor his trip to Port Moresby.

“Even one small boy had to ask his mother for K20 to pay my PMV bus fare from Popondetta town down to the beach,” he recalled.

“So my semi-final act will also be dedicated to my fans because they boosted my morale to go to that level,” he said.
