Introducing TVWAN’s ‘Independence Jam’

Have you met the rest of the crew behind TVWAN?

An independence special set to air on the eve of independence will give you this opportunity.

TVWAN Independence Jam will feature various talents within the television company as well as staff from Digicel PNG.

Groups and individuals will perform PNG hits from the past or originals to go in line with PNG’s independence. These performances will be accompanied by the studiowan band.

There will also be quiz time based on PNG history. But the focus on the program, according to producer Armstrong Gomara, is music.

“You don’t remember the speech made years ago…you remember the music performed then. So this program is basically to bring back past hits, those that made history or sung during a historic event, in the country,” he said.

The show will be co-produced with Allan Aufamau.

Both producers, who are also local musicians and entertainers, going by stage names dAdigii and Sprigga Mek, will also be performing.

“This program is our gift back to PNG and the viewers,” said Aufamau.

There will also be other talents like stand-up comedian Elton Kili.

The 45-minute show will first air on Friday, 15 September, 7pm and then again on Saturday, 16 September, 7pm.
