Charly Black tickets out

Tickets for the Charly Black concert at the Cosmopolitan have begun selling as of yesterday.

The concert is set for February 3.

This leaves the Cosmopolitan the challenge of selling out in 1 week.

But general manager Martin Sherry is confident to have a full house on the night.

The Jamaican dancehall sensation is the voice behind favourite party anthem: Party Animal.

He will be performing for one night only at the super club, here in Port Moresby.

He was supposed to visit PNG in October of 2017, but this visit was postponed until this year.

This Australia-PNG-New Zealand tour is his first time out of Jamaica.

But for Cosmopolitan, Charly Black is not the first Jamaican artist.

The super club had hosted Omi in 2017, but Sherry says Omi is not as popular as Charly Black, in the country.

Charly Black will be the first international artist to grace the stage of Cosmopolitan this year.

Sherry has confirmed there a plans for more international artists but cannot reveal any information on this, at this time.

“We’ve got to engage what Papua New Guineans like. They like reggae, hip-hop, R&B and dancehall. Charly Black covers all of these genres,” he said.

The Cosmopolitan will also continue to promote local talent through the year through competitions and concerts.

“It will be a good year,” Sherry said.

Tickets for Charly Black are going for K60 – general admission, K80 – VIP, K120 – meet & greet.
