COUNTING: Kairuku-Hiri’s progressive result – after count 10

Simple People's Party (SPP) candidate Nou Rage has maintained the lead in the race for the Kairuku-Hiri Open seat after count 10.

Ballot boxes for count 10 were from the Papa and Bogi villages in the Hiri LLGs.

The results are as follows:

The total informal votes after count 9 is 322 and total ballot papers counted so far are 14,255.

Meantime, for the Central Regional seat, after count 10 from Kairuku-Hiri Electorate, incumbent Governor, People’s National Congress candidate Kila Haoda, continues to lead the race.

The total informal votes after count 10 for the Regional count is 325 out of a total of 14,021 ballot papers counted so far.

Meanwhile, the returning officer, Tabu Vaira, commended the counting officials for a job well done as there were no complaints from the scrutineers.

Vaira confirmed that counting of ballot boxes for team 5 and 6 for the Hiri LLG will be done tonight and ballot boxes for team 7 and 8 will be counted on Saturday to complete the Hiri LLG boxes.

The next ballot boxes to be counted are from the Kairuku LLG.
