COUNTING: ESP progressive result – after primary count completion

National Alliance candidate, Allan ‘bigpla pisin’ Bird, still maintains a tight grip on the top spot of the East Sepik Provincial seat race.

This is the only seat yet to find a winner in the 2017 National Election for East Sepik Province.  

According to reports from Wewak, elimination started last night.    

The progressive top five candidates following completion of primary counts;

Total number of exhausted ballot papers are 212,465, with the absolute majority at 107,000.

The absolute majority will decrease as more ballot papers are exhausted during the exclusion of candidates.

Twenty-six candidates are vying for the seat left vacant by the retirement of Sir Michael Somare.
