NCD counting venues

Three venues will be used across the city to conduct counting of ballot papers for NCD election.

Kila Kila Secondary School, Sir John Guise Stadium and Rita Flynn Courts will be the venues.

The PNG Electoral Commission released the counting venues today.

All ballot boxes for the Moresby South Electorate will be counted at the secondary school.

Counting for Moresby North-East will be at the Sir John Guise stadium while the Rita Flynn Courts will be used for the NCD Regional Seat counting as well as Moresby North-West.

Counting should start on Tuesday, July 4. However, that is yet to be confirmed by Electoral Commissioner Patilias Gamato if counting will not commence as scheduled.

At the end of the one-day polling for NCD on Friday, all ballot boxes were taken to the Rita Flynn Courts. They remain there under heavy security supervision till counting.

Three polling venues in NCD were allowed polling on Saturday after no polling took place at the venues. They are McGregor barracks, UPNG and Four-Mile Works compound.

Loop PNG visited all three venues today. Polling went ahead at McGregor and Four-Mile however, there were no polling officials at UPNG at lunch time when our team visited.

Meanwhile, all polling venues visited today by Loop PNG had limited number of ballot papers.

Ballot papers were bought to the venues according to the number of names on the Electoral Roll and most who had voted in previous elections could not cast their votes because their names were not there.
