Youths in cells over home brew

Two youths are being held in the Boroko police cells over home brew abuse.

Aged 15 and 17, the two, originally from East Sepik, were caught by police drinking near the main drain outside the Kone Tigers Park this morning.

Police report that a patrol unit saw the two acting suspiciously and approached them when they realized the lads were drunk on home brewed alcohol.

The two will be charged with homebrew consumption and will be referred to juvenile officers for counselling.

Meantime a man aged 45 was also arrested for drinking home brew in that area late last night.

That man is also in the Boroko cells.
