Local designer Yanah Copland has been crowned the Top Designer in the 2015 Ice PNG Fashion competition in Port Moresby.
Copland was awarded the best designer from seven others following four weeks of competition at The Gold Club, Lamana Hotel.
Copland showcased skill, talent and creativity in her designed garments based on a different theme every week including tribal contemporary, club wear, formal evening wear and Ice carnival wear.
The designers’ scores were combined for all rounds until the eventual winner was picked at the grand final ICE Carnival Showcase on New Year’s Eve.
Organiser Jacquie Simons of Lamana Hotel said the designer put a lot of effort into creating garments in the time frame.
The competition also saw 20 models challenge for the top spot with Dorothea Yameng taking out the 2015 Ice PNG Fashion Top Model.
Both designer and model each took home K6000 while the runner ups walked away with K3000 each and the 3rd placings received K1000 each, all thanks to Niugini Ice and SP Brewery.
