NCD Central police Commander Sylvester Kalaut has clarified that the woman in the middle of the Condom saga has yet to come forward to police to lay an official complaint.
Kalaut said this following unsubstantiated media reports that the victim has come forward to lay her complaint.
He says that the relatives of the woman have been in touch with his office and are now in the process of making arrangements with his office to facilitate for her to come in.
Kalaut says that the woman is still in hiding but has been talking with relatives who have been encouraging her to seek help from police and health workers.
Meanwhile, Kalaut says the nature of this case is sensitive and appealed to all parties including media to be careful in how they address the issue.
He has warned people involved in stirring up talks about protesting to avoid being fueled by opportunist with ulterior motives.
“The main aim in this case is to ensure that justice is served on the woman concerned and that all guilty parties are dealt with” Kalaut said.
