Walkways to helps coastal villages in NCD

Two coastal communities in Moresby South will be having their walkways rehabilitated and rebuilt.

A walkway project was launched yesterday by Governor Powes Parkop and Member for Moresby South Justin Tkatchenko at two coastal communities of Vanagi settlement and Wanigela Village in Moresby South.

The total cost of the project is K270,000  and will being funded by the Governor for NCD Powes Parkop.

Minister for Sports and National Events and Member for Moresby South Justin Tkatchenko while thanking Governor Parkop urged the two communities to be serious in making a change in their own communities.

“A total of nine walkways, three in Vanagi and six in Wanigela village will go a long way into the future,” Tkatchenko said.

The walkway project will be undertaken by local contractors from Vanagi and Wanigela communities as an added incentive for local contractors.

“This is you opportunity to showcase your workmanship in your own communities so do not let your own communities down,” adds Tkatchenko.
