VIDEO: Clashes in Jerusalem/Hebron amid high tension

Israeli security forces clashed with protesters on Friday, with one seen punching a Palestinian man, and others firing stun grenades outside the Lion's Gate entrance to Jerusalem's Old City.

There were also clashes in Hebron.

According to an Israeli police spokesperson, earlier on Friday, a 25-year old Palestinian man from the Village of Shufat threw a fire bomb in the Old City of Jerusalem towards Jewish shopkeepers.

The spokesperson said that the man was filmed on a police CCTV camera and was later detained by the police.

The attack comes on the heels of a series of Palestinian rock and firebomb attacks that have prompted Israel to vow to quash such threats.

Israel's military deployed hundreds of troops in the West Bank on Friday, a day after a drive-by shooting by suspected Palestinian gunmen killed a Jewish settler couple driving home with their children.
