Security strict at Festival

Security at the famous Hiri Moale Festival in Port Moresby on Saturday was very strict.

Security personnels and police were on high alert allowing only media, participating groups and tourist to enter the main arena of activities to capture the event.

"We had anticipated opportunist to try to take advantage of the festival but everything ran smoothly and as planned," police say.

Police say they had groups of men in blue posted along the different sections of the beach to keep eyes out on the public going about the beach.

“Around 3 or 4 kids have gone missing from their parents and word has already been put out through speaker for anyone who may come in contact with these missing kids to bring them to the Down Town Police as their will also be a reward for them.”
