Sampari Exhibition and Art Sale coming to a close soon

The Sampari Exhibition and Art Sale in Melbourne, Australia, aimed at raising awareness for West Papuans will end next Sunday, December 11.

This is the second year of the event which gives artists a chance to speak on behalf of their Melanesian brother’s struggle for freedom.

The exhibition started last Saturday night, December 2, held at the Australian Catholic University Art Gallery, in Melbourne.

The event has already featured a variety of activities including “Forthspeak” Spoken Word Artist Event last Saturday and “Saluting Melanesia” Cultural Day on Sunday.

With a few more days to go, the event has already been praised by many, particularly on having opportunity to participate in Melanesian cultures featured, such as a Kava Ceremony.

Tomorrow will feature 'Land of the Morning Star' Film Screening, Saturday will see “350 Pacific and West Papua” and the Sunday, the Rent Collective Christmas.
