RUNWAY announces new and exciting collections for third show

Stella Magazine’s RUNWAY presents its 3rd Fashion Collective from September 1-2 at Gateway Hotel in Port Moresby.

New and exciting collections from Papua New Guinea’s established and upcoming designers will be showcased with 30 top models on a fantastic runway!

Due to the success of the previous shows, expectations are high for the third year of Stella’s RUNWAY, 2016, promises to deliver bigger and better collections from 12 dazzling Papua New Guinean designers celebrating contemporary culture on this prestigious fashion platform.

Stella’s production team and models are working tirelessly to create another incredible event, which is not only glamorous and fast becoming the social calendar event of the year; it highlights the opportunities available for a viable career in fashion.

On Thursday, September 1 at 8am, Stella will launch its inaugural Creative Symposium, a panel to discuss practical methods of developing the creative industries in Papua New Guinea plus discuss how creative SMEs can effectively contribute to social and economic growth.

The Symposium will feature successful Pacific fashion personnel guest speakers, including designers, photographers, artists, dancers, writers, talent agents and creative producers. All will provide insight into what it takes to succeed as a Pacific creative in mainstream industry.

In 2016, Stella is joined by Fijian-Australian Sandhya Dusk Devi Nand, a former model and highly experienced fashion writer and photographer, in demand within Australia and the Pacific for her fashion runway, editorial and campaign photography.

And one model walking at RUNWAY2016 can expect to be scouted by visiting agents from Platinum Model Management Australia to complete a deportment course in Cairns, Far North QLD, valued at AUD $1,500.

RUNWAY director and founder of Stella Magazine, Amanda Donigi, says: “We here at Stella and RUNWAY feel it is our duty, know it is our role, to provide and produce the platforms for emerging talent and established talent, to reach its target market and encourage further education”.

“This year’s RUNWAY is bigger, not just in production but in reward and outcome and we are excited about the future for creative arts and fashion in Papua New Guinea.”

Stella’s RUNWAY will showcase 12 collections on Friday, September 2. Doors open at 6pm.

VIP and general admission tickets will be on sale from August 13 from selected outlets in Port Moresby.
