Protest planned in WNB

West New Britain people are planning to have a peaceful protest march to the provincial government next month to present their petition to the Governor and the other two MPs.

Organised by prominent leader Caspar Reure, the march has been gaining wide support from people of West New Britain.

The three main issues that will be highlighted include the legality of Asians doing businesses in the province, Provincial Health Authority to conduct inspection on all fast-food outlets and for the provincial government to appoint a Town Planner.

In the West New Britain Community Forum on the social media Facebook, more than 500 people have shown their support for the peaceful protest march.

Some have already called for the leaders to come out and explain the five year provincial plan, which they claimed the provincial government did not have.

Reure said the march will involve all the people who have made West New Britain their home.

He said it is no longer appropriate for me (us) to sit back and continue to ponder on issues needing addressing immediately and wish for a miracle to happen so such issues could be erased, sorted out, fixed and or eliminated in the province.

“I demand on behalf of the silent majority within and outside the province, action taken now and not after the 2017 Elections because that would be a total waste of time and money.”

He reiterated that as elected leaders mandated by the people of the province who should exercise pro-activeness and creativity, people are not seeing these things so we have now resorted to this venue as our means on conveying our dissatisfaction.
