Private companies netball starts first week of games

The private companies netball competition started its first week of season proper games today at the Rita Flynn indoor courts.

President Kori Toua Navuru says there are 92 teams from 79 companies that are taking part this season.

There are 15 divisions, including the premier division in the competition.

“We had about two weeks of trials and have kick started the competition today,” said Navuru.

In today’s matches, Brian Bell def. QBE 15-12, Deloitte def. City Pharmacy 14-11, Abel def. National Finance 6-2, Boroko Motors def. Justice Department 11-0, BSP (3) def. Ela Motors (2) 9-5, Young and William Lawyers def. PNG Ports 6-5, Kenmore (2) def. Deloitte (2) 11-5 and Air Niugini (3) def. Marsh (2) 21-2.

Finals will be held next year in March.
