Pom businesses join in Games Relay

Business houses in the National Capital District joined in the Oil Search Pacific Games Relay throughout the Moresby Northeast electorate today.

Companies including Digicel Play, SP Brewery, BSP, Coca Cola, Courts, Brian Bell and Datec were part of the relay.

The Baton passed through Gordons, Five Mile, East Boroko, Three Mile and Boroko before the Relay ended at Jack Pidik Park.

The relay kicked off with Digicel Play runner Simm-Badd Bieb in front of the Digicel PNG office before it was handed over to staff of Coca Cola.

Bieb was proud to be part of the relay and said the feeling was overwhelming with the crowd running beside him.

“The moment passed quickly but will last a lifetime and thank you to everyone and the staff of Digicel PNG that supported me on the road,” he said.

SP Brewery general manager Stan Joyce received the Baton in front of the SP Brewery factory before it was handed over to Courts workers and then the firemen from the PNG Fire Department.

Residents living around Five Mile, East Boroko and Three Mile lined the streets to catch a glimpse and a feel of the baton as it passed their street.

Datec joined the relay at Boroko before the baton made its way to the Jack Pidik Park where it officially ended its journey.
