Polye shows support for Namah

Opposition leader Don Polye this morning (October 23) showed support for his fellow opposition member and Vanimo Green MP, Belden Namah at the Waigani National Court house.

Polye attended Namah’s first tribunal hearing where he appeared with his lawyer Greg Sheppard before members of the Leadership Tribunal.

The brief tribunal sitting later saw both leaders walked out the Court precinct after it was adjourned to next week Monday.

A proper tribunal hearing is expected to commence on Monday with the presentation of the reference by the Public Prosecutor Pondros Kaluwin to Namah.

No statements were made by both leaders outside the car park due to strict orders of the tribunal against car park press conferences; however, handshakes took place before they left in separate vehicles.

Namah is facing 15 counts of misconduct in office.

He will return before the tribunal on Oct 26.
