Polye packs a punch for Parkop

Opposition leader Don Polye has criticized NCD Governor as ‘nonsense’, ‘hypocrite’ and a confused leader like a doctor who tries to provide diagnosis to the patients but ended up giving the wrong medications.

He said Parkop was to be blamed for all the informal sector problems in the city because his rogue policemen went on a rampage kicking and bullying the informal sector people in the city.

He said Parkop must look at solving ethnicity problems and support the informal sector in the city.

Polye added that people have to survive in this demanding city and Parkop really need to come up with some solutions for the formal sector.

“People need to survive in the city as the cost of the living is very high.

“Even those who are getting a fortnightly salary cannot be able to afford themselves,” he said.

He said the NCD Governor should be talking about supporting Small Medium Enterprises and informal businesses in the country.

Polye made the statement after police went around the city and removed all the informal sector markets.

“He (Parkop) should be providing money for the young people and those that have vote for him in the city.

“Build them houses and provide them with water and electricity and create proper markets for them rather than chasing the betel nut sellers away,” he said.

“Mothers, fathers and youths all want to make money and don’t abuse their rights.”

Polye stressed that informal sector markets builds up a robust economy in the country.

However, Parkop told Loop PNG that Polye needs to get his facts right before making such outrageous claims.
